Cestería en mimbre fino is a unique piece that combines the tradition of wicker weaving with the innovation of digital design. Created by artisan Segundo Rodríguez and industrial designer Paulina Orellana Villarroel, the piece incorporates a removable and reusable mold developed through digital fabrication. It was awarded the 2015 Seal of Excellence for Handicrafts by the National Crafts Committee, composed of the Crafts Division of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage of Chile and the Crafts Program of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, with the support of the UNESCO Office in Santiago, Chile. The piece is currently part of the collection of the Museum of American Popular Art (MAPA).
